4th Working Group Meeting - Academic Workload Models & Cascading Goals

The fourth Performance For All conference took place on 15th May 2013 at the University of Bristol.

Agenda
Time: 15th May from 11.00am (coffee from 10:30) to 15:00pm
Venue: Brunel Room, the Hawthorns Conference Centre, University of Bristol
Directions:  There is a map of the University precinct available here.  There are other travel directions, including by train and car, available here.

The meeting was focused on two themes with significant current interest for project institutions at all stages of implementation:

1. Addressing Academic Workload within PFA
  • How is academic workload being prioritised and managed in project institutions?
  • What is the overlap between academic workload and performance review?  What are the benefits and challenges of bringing them together?
  • Some examples of how it may work.

2. Implementing Cascading Goals
  • Sharing and exploring some of the questions that are raised when the Goals module is first implemented in university contexts.
  • Discussing how the readiness of a team or institution can be assessed and the ‘gaps’ filled to optimise the success of the implementation.
